SENIOR CONSULTANT

role description

dandolopartners is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing team. Based in Melbourne, this is an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual to join one of Australia’s leading public policy and strategy consultancies.

What the role involves

This is a multi-faceted role. The Senior Consultant will be involved, concurrently, on a range of consulting projects and other tasks. You will work in a small team to provide strategic advice to our clients on engagements usually ranging from one to six months duration. A typical week in the role of a senior consultant might include:

  • Leading and participating in meetings with project teams to conceptualise, scope and structure our work – taking part in rigorous debate to develop novel and insightful perspectives.

  • Designing, participating in or leading research engagements such as interviews and focus groups, surveys or workshops.

  • Synthesising and analysing insights for client presentations and reports.

  • Working with stakeholders and clients to develop knowledge and insights, and to finalise presentations and outputs across a range of projects.

  • Balancing the needs and responsibilities of multiple projects, including timely completion of work, communicating with team members and delivering consistently high-quality outputs.

What we're looking for

A Senior Consultant will:

  • Be a strong, structured and conceptual thinker

  • Be a clear, compelling communicator

  • Be comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis

  • Have experience, or a willingness to learn, how to lead projects and manage staff

  • Have relevant academic qualifications

  • Have at least three years’ work experience, for example as strategy / management consultants, in another professional services environment, or in government.

What we offer

The successful candidate will:

  • Be part of a team that shares a motivation for solving complex problems

  • Work exclusively on challenging public policy issues

  • Have the chance to demonstrate more independence and impact on clients and projects than in many other consulting environments

  • Join colleagues who are committed to their work, but also to a reasonable work life balance

  • Receive competitive remuneration and focused support to develop their capability as a consultant.
