Alex Oo
MANAGER
Alex is an award-winning leader and evaluator of transformational and internationally recognised social impact programs. He has led social impact programs from inception to scaling, having pitched, designed, delivered and evaluated multiple large-scale programs. He initiated and led a world-first initiative in assessing and supporting the learning of students with disability that was awarded a New South Wales Premier’s Award and was lauded by the OECD as “a good example of a bottom-up approach to policy making and co-construction of policies”.
Alex has expertise in education, disability and quantitative research and evaluation methods. He also has a wide range of experience developing and evaluating policies and programs across international development, social entrepreneurship and other policy areas. He is a well-regarded trainer and capability builder in how to develop and use strong evidence for designing policy and strategy.

The leader for the world-leading Assessment for Complex Learners project in the NSW Department of Education, for which he won the 2023 NSW Premier’s Award for World class education and training
A senior executive in the NSW Department of Education overseeing data and strategic insights
An evaluation capacity building lead advising public schools on how to evaluate and improve their impact
A program manager for a United Nations funded grassroots entrepreneurship program in Southeast Asia
A data science and evaluation consultant in early childhood development, infrastructure, technology and other policy areas.
Alex has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Sydney and will begin a Master of Science (Research) in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney to learn how to build new AI innovations to support educators.
